Join our Healing Heroes Breast Cancer Fundraiser

Every October brings a sea of pink ribbons into our inboxes and social media accounts. Breast cancer awareness and research is such an important cause; it affects 1 in 8 women. And while it affects 1 in 726 men, which might not sound that dire, men’s mortality rate is 25% higher – in part because they usually don’t have the preventative care women do. Awareness, screenings, treatment, and support are vital. But the “pinkification” of breast cancer campaigns every fall has made many survivors feel the disease has been trivialized.

At Tribal Health, some of our team members and their families have experienced breast cancer firsthand. We never want any survivor to feel their experience has been reduced to cute graphics or infantilizing slogans. So this month, we are teaming up with the American Cancer Society to raise money for research – and we’re also sharing a guide to early detection.

Do you want to join us? You’re invited to participate in several ways…

FUNDRAISING

You can join our Healing Heroes team! There are 3 ways to help us reach our $2500 fundraising goal:

  1. Donate directly on our page.
  2. Order a Tribal Health Healing Heroes t-shirt or hoodie.
  3. Share the links to our page and our shirts with your friends and family!

You can also participate in our “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink” social campaign. Just send us a photo of yourself wearing something pink and we’ll kick in another donation to the American Cancer Society!

AWARENESS

You can also walk with us on October 26! Our team will do the big Making Strides walk in Phoenix, but you can also find a local Making Strides walk or form a team and walk in your community. Email hello@tribalhealth.com to sign up. You don’t have to work at Tribal Health to join us! We’d love to meet you and have you walk with us.

We’re also releasing a guide on breast cancer early detection next week that we urge you to share. It covers the facts on breast cancer, risk factors, symptoms, and the important of early detection.

We’ll share more updates in the coming weeks – but you can get involved right now. Visit our page. Share the word. Maybe even share your breast cancer story with us. We’d love to hear how you’re spreading awareness and how breast cancer has impacted you.
