Joanne Thompson shared her experience working with nurses at the Kyle Health Clinic for 8 months during this global pandemic. Her bittersweet goodbye was one to remember:
“On my second last day of my assignment with KHC, the nurses gave me a gift to show their appreciation,” she said. “I was not expecting anything and I was quite moved by their intentions and cards. The nurses customized a navy blue hoodie for me. One of the medical providers also gave me a parting gift, a notebook and pen.
KHC nurses live up to their oath to serve, care and help others. I will remember each one of them because they helped me to give my best in every patient care experience. Once again, I am blessed to be working for Tribal Health and the Oglala Lakota communities in South Dakota.”
