Job Summary: The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for un'ina (customer) assessment; evaluation; diagnosis, in consultation with the provider; plan of care; and evidence-based intervention. The OT will assist un'ina who have an injury, illness, or de-conditioned state to improve their quality of life, manage their pain, and contribute to their overall wellness.

Location: Kenai, AK

Compensation:

·        Salary: $96,911.20

Schedule: Full-time, Exempt status

Setting: Tribal health facility

Patient Demographics: Primarily serving Alaska Native/American Indian people

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Master of Occupational Therapy Degree
  • Two years' experience in occupational therapy evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Experience with computerized management information systems
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR, Part 2 regulations
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Licensure:

  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in Alaska, or obtained within three months of hire
  • State of Alaska Driver's License and remain insurable under the Tribe's policy

Certifications:

  • CPR and AED certification required

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and interpret evaluations and test results
  • Determine plans of care in collaboration with the integrated care team
  • Manage individualized goal-directed Occupational Therapy care
  • Implement, supervise, and modify therapy plans of care
  • Collaborate with other team members in an integrated model of care
  • Ensure appropriate medical equipment is arranged
  • Document client encounter findings and treatments
  • Obtain client informed consent for proposed interventions
  • Develop and conduct in-service training programs
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement processes

Support Staff:

The Occupational Therapist works as part of an integrated care team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
