We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare provider who understands and respects the values of our tribal communities. Together, staff will provide care that meets the needs of the community and offers a meaningful and culturally responsive experience for both patients and their families.

Specialty: Hematology and Oncology

Work Setting: Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) – a tertiary care facility offering over 30 specialties and providing a full complement of acute medical and primary care services. ANMC is a Level II Trauma Center serving as the tertiary referral center for Alaska Native and American Indian people across the entire state.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, four 10-hour shifts per week. Combination of outpatient clinic, inpatient consults, and procedures. No formal call schedule, but primary oncologists must be available for questions after hours.

Patient Mix by Age: Alaska Native and American Indian people from across the state of Alaska, all ages.

Patient Volume: 8-12 patients per day per provider

Types of Cases:

  • General Hematology and Oncology
  • Large volume of GI – stomach, biliary and colorectal cancers
  • Unique spectrum of lymphomas – more T cells than B cells; fewer cases of CLL and multiple myeloma
  • Increasing hematological malignancies – leukemia and hybrid lymphomas

Specialties and Staff on Site: Supportive work environment with a cohesive team including Nurse Practitioners, Care Management, and Medical Assistants.

Credentialing: Board Eligible/Board Certified in both Hematology and Oncology

Requirements:

Licensure: Alaska medical license (or ability to obtain)

Required Certifications: Board Eligible/Board Certified in both Hematology and Oncology

Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in both Hematology and Oncology

Life Support Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
