- Specialty: General Surgery
- License accepted: Any state.
- Weekly schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 8a – 4p
- 1 OR block day/week with 4 clinic days/week.
- Expected volume: Emergent cases vary, elective cases on OR block days can be 4-6 per/day.
- Call:
- Rotation is typically 1:3 or 1:4 depending on the staffing.
- 3-4 Physicians share call rotation
- Call back frequency: 0-2 times
- Required to cover ER calls
- No in-house calls. Lodging during calls will need to be within 30 minutes response time (according to hospital bylaws).
- Case Types: General surgery bread and butter cases, endoscopies, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia, occasional trauma (polytrauma stabilize and transfer) etc.
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS
- Experience: Preferred 1 year of experience but will consider new grads.
- COVID vaccine required: Yes
- Clearance timeframe: 4-6 weeks
- Support staff: No surgical PAs.
