We have an immediate and urgent need for PICU RNs at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center
Position Requirements
Education
Associate’s degree in nursing minimum
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Certifications (Hands-on through AHA or Red Cross)
• BLS
• PALS
• ACLS
• NRP
• S.T.A.B.L.E.
Experience
Minimum 12 months full-time RN experience in PICU, NICU, Pediatric CVICU, or other high-acuity pediatric critical care unit
Additional Requirements
• N95 duckbill respirator fit testing
• Current, full, active, unrestricted RN license
• U.S. Citizenship
Portsmouth PICU Overview
• 3-bed unit expandable to 9 beds
• Patient population from 4 months through adolescence
• NICU handles neonatal cases with full patient handoff
• RNs assigned to PICU work exclusively in PICU
• One on-call shift per pay period
• 10–12 weeks of on-the-job training (8-hour shifts)
