Position Overview
- Job Title: Health Systems Director
- Location: Kenai, AK, USA
- Department: Administration
- Employment Status: Full Time, Exempt
- Reports to: Executive Director of Tribal Administration
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Dena'ina Wellness Center's business and clinical operations
- Facilitate integrated service model across various health departments
- Guide Executive Leadership in health and wellness strategies
- Manage budgets and performance measures
- Lead strategic and annual planning for health care services improvement
- Develop and oversee Health Systems policies and procedures
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities
- Maintain accreditation standards (e.g., CARF, AAAHC, FAHQ, ACHC)
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Kahtnu'tana Dena'ina Health Board and Tribal Council
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, health sciences, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 7 years of healthcare leadership experience
- Experience in health program strategy development and implementation
- Knowledge of Alaska Tribal Health Care Operations and Indian Health Services
- Valid Alaska driver's license
Skills and Attributes
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
- Understanding of primary care, behavioral health, dental, and other healthcare operations
- Proficiency in budgeting, revenue cycle, and grants management
- Experience with process improvement and change management
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
Working Conditions
- Sedentary work (up to 10 pounds of force occasionally)
- Local, in-state, and out-of-state travel required for training and meetings
