Timian Godfrey, DNP
Director of Clinical Research
A Board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Timian Godfrey brings more than 20 years of clinical practice in nursing and community health. For the last decade, she has served as a nurse practitioner in emergency healthcare for rural and tribal communities, and an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Arizona College of Nursing. As a doctoral candidate in the Nursing and Health Innovation program at Arizona State University, she focuses on research in health equity for underrepresented minority groups, specifically Native American communities. At University of Arizona, Timian is the project director for federal grant programs aiming to increase the number of underrepresented nurses in the workforce; she also leads an Indian Health Services award (American Indians in Nursing Career Advancement and Transition Scholars) aiming to increase the number of Native American nurses practicing in tribal communities. She mentors health professional students from underrepresented backgrounds through the Arizona Area Health Education Centers and is involved in health policy development through the Arizona State Office of Rural Health. Timian holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and a certification in public health. At Johns Hopkins University, her doctorate degree studies encompassed a leadership focus with public health training in the Bloomberg School of Public Health, specializing in American Indian Healthcare.
