Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician

Summary

Job Summary:

The Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician provides evidence-based behavioral healthcare services within a primary care setting. Responsibilities include initial evaluations, triage assessments, crisis intervention, brief therapy, skills training, care coordination, and case management. The clinician collaborates closely with medical and behavioral health teams and participates in interdisciplinary meetings to support integrated care.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychosocial evaluations and risk assessments
  • Develop individualized treatment plans using DSM-V criteria
  • Provide brief interventions and SBIRT screenings
  • Collaborate with primary care providers for integrated care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EHR
  • Participate in quality improvement and staff training
  • Coordinate referrals and advocate for patient needs
  • Attend meetings and respond to communications promptly
  • Support recruitment and training of behavioral health staff
  • Engage in continuing education and licensing compliance

Licensure:

  • Current, valid California license (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC)
  • CPR/BLS Certification
  • TB test and annual flu shot required (unless exempted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccine offered

Setting: Primary care clinic with integrated behavioral health services

Schedule: Full-time; standard clinic hours. Includes participation in team meetings, case conferences, and timely documentation.

Patient Demographics:

Diverse patient population including individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring medical conditions.

Support Staff:

  • Behavioral Health Director
  • Primary Care Providers
  • Medical and administrative support staff

Certifications:

  • CPR/BLS
  • California BBS licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC)

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy
  • Minimum two years of experience in mental health services
  • Experience with crisis management, psychosocial assessments, and brief therapeutic interventions
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and documentation standards
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, mandated reporting, and ethical guidelines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
