Summary:

This position provides comprehensive primary care services as a Family Nurse Practitioner, including diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and patient education. The Family Nurse Practitioner will deliver care under standardized protocols, performing physical exams, diagnosing and managing common health problems, prescribing medications, and coordinating patient care. The role emphasizes preventive care, patient education, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary health care under established protocols and state regulations
  • Diagnose and manage common health conditions; consult with physicians for complex cases
  • Perform physical examinations and health maintenance procedures
  • Prescribe medications and furnish medical devices in accordance with standardized procedures
  • Administer injections and immunizations
  • Review and interpret lab and imaging results
  • Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health systems
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and clinic committees
  • Respond to emergencies using prudent judgment beyond established protocols

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school and current RN license in California
  • Completion of Family Nurse Practitioner education and certification in California
  • Current Furnishing Number per Nursing Practice Act
  • Current BLS and CPR certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years paid experience as an FNP (GS-13) or 5 years (GS-14)
  • Valid California driver’s license and insurable vehicle
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity

Schedule:

Open M-F, and offer 4- 10's with the option of m-TH or T-Fri

Setting:

Outpatient clinical environment
